Word of Wizards - Excerpts: Rituals
Manual of the Planes Excerpts: Rituals
Sorry for the extreme late update. I was volunteering for a recent convention and it just got the worse of me.
Anyway Friday's excerpt gave us the Table of Contents for the Manual of the Planes which gives us a good general idea of what's in the book.
The book looks like it's expected to be fluff heavy as there is many sections dedicated to one particular locale from the Feywild, Shadowfell, Elemental Chaos and the Astral Sea. Sigil also gets its own section but my heart sank when I didn't see Tu'narath in the list.
On the crunchy side of things, for DMs they will have new monsters to use as we have already seen the Astral Dreadnought earlier.
For players, the book will have new paragon paths, rituals and magic items which is surprising because there are no new feats and races. Still, I'm grateful for that because it doesn't cause a power creep.
The excerpt also features a sample of the new rituals; Rope Trick. The ritual creates an access to a demiplane that last for 7 hours or less. It is meant to be used as a resting spot that can be pretty well defended.
There is also a list of all the new rituals by level and what is the main skill (mostly Arcana, unsurprisingly).
