It's must have been a busy week over at Wizards. With the recent pulloff of their PDFs from sales and filing law suits against 8 pirates, it invoked quite a wrathful backlash from fans, forums and blogs alike for their indiscretion.
Wizards' stance on this issue appears to be 2 fold; to make it harder for pirates and to support their retail base. Both of which would lead up to a strong hobby gaming industry that Wizards sees it as necessary to protect and to nurture.
In terms of freebie content, it has also been quite a fulfilling week with excerpts, previews, advice and a special tribute to Dave Arneson, co-creator of Dungeons & Dragons, bursting from the seams. This week is the last of the Arcane Power excerpts and the Penny Arcade/PvP live play podcast, so be sure to catch those from the links below.
So here's the week's rundown on everything that's been going on at Wizards.

Next week, we'll start seeing excerpts from Monster Manual 2 but also E1 Death's Reach. There will be a Vicious Venues podcast which I'm quite excited about, a Spotlight Interview and maybe some advice on how to use the Dungeon Delve.
Insiders can look forward to more familiars, orcs and a design and development article, probably on Arcane Power.
Enjoy your weekend and share any thoughts that have about this or next week.
